Song Requirements:Each performer shall sing one Country song and be judged on the criteria stated above. A large selection of song choices will be provided by the DJ. Each contestant shall use only the equipment provided by the DJ running the show. NO outside equipment by contestant or anyone other than the DJ shall be used. No PROPS are allowed. If you choose to bring your own instrumental CD or CDG, you are responsible for the correct track given to the DJ for your performance. Any personal CDs must be labeled with your name and picked up from the DJ following your performance. Lost or stolen CDs are not the responsibility or the DJ, Log Jam Fest or the participating venue. After all singers have signed up and chosen their song, all names will be put into a hat or pitcher for a random drawing for their order of performance. This will be done by the DJ.Performances will be limited to five minutes. Choose your song wisely. If it is longer than five, be prepared to give us a big finish at the five-minute mark. We don’t mind if someone else is doing your song. But if we see a duplicate we will give you the option to change before the show. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO CHANGE.
In the Event of a Tie:If at the end of the first judged song there is a tie, the contestants who are tied for first place only, will sing another judged song. Contestants are not allowed to repeat the song used for the first judged song. Should this method not break the tie, the judges will collaborate between each other and decide a winner.
In the Event of Advancing Contestant not being able to make the next event:All reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate advancing contestant’s schedule, but no guarantees will be made. In the event an advancing contestant cannot make an advancing round, his or her spot will default to the next contestant in queue.
Conduct and Expectations:Songs containing vulgar or explicit sex lyrics will not be allowed. Contestants who during their performance use vulgar lyrics or perform in an obscene manner will be disqualified from the competition.
Tips:1. It is suggested that you try to memorize your song and not use the monitors to receive a higher score.2. Dressing appropriately is recommended3. Any contestant that faces the dreaded malfunction of the equipment has the option of starting over. Examples include: feed back, skipping of disk, loss of microphone. This does not include the contestant bumping into the equipment causing a skip or turning off microphone while singing. If it is judged that the contestant purposely caused a malfunction of the equipment, this is grounds for disqualification.4.
