8/12/17 - The Beaver Dam Fire Department responded to residential fire yesterday afternoon. In a press release, officials say at 4:32pm a report came that a house caught fire at 509 East Mill Street. Upon arrival, fire crews noticed light to moderate smoke coming from the east corner of the structure. The blaze was eventually extinguished and the home was ventilated. The owners of the residence were not home at the time and no injuries were reported. The fire was caused by an electric short by the main service to the house that was damaged by a tree limb. The home sustained moderate fire damage, with severe heat and smoke damage. The Beaver Dam Fire Department was assisted by the Beaver Dam Police, Beaver Dam DPW, and the Beaver Dam Water Utility. Fire departments from Fox Lake, Hustisford, Horicon, Waupun, and Watertown also assisted.
